Nancy's Journey

Hi, my name is Nancy and I would like to tell you about myself and my journey...

Growing up, I had a tough childhood. In 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Then in 2018, I had melanoma. As if that wasn’t enough, in 2019 I underwent a total knee replacement and in 2022, I needed bunion surgery.

Through all of this, I had no complaints. I have kept busy taking cooking classes to help me make healthy meals. I even have my own business where I create custom-screened t-shirts, coffee mugs, and many other items.

Over the years, I have actively participated in the Special Olympics and I love to bowl. I literally have hundreds of medals and trophies.

In April 2023, I started in-home personal training classes with Team Extreme X-Training. My trainer, Sheila, is excellent. She is so positive and motivates me to give 100% every time. When it is nice out, we exercise on the grounds of my complex. When the weather is not so good, we use the gym. I take breaks when I need to, but I never give up. Sheila meets my exercise needs but exceeds my expectations as well.

Back in April, I was not able to do jumping jacks, high knees, squats, or even a burpee. Through positive encouragement and consistency, I am so proud to say that I am finally able to start performing these exercises. I have already lost over 8 pounds! Some of the people who live in my complex jokingly say they don’t want to mess with me!

My goal in posting my journey is two-fold. I want to help myself and inspire others.

Please follow me on my journey, as I travel down the road to taking charge, getting fit, and having a great time!
